Despite the current disagreements between China and the United States, Huawei should still launch the successor of its P30 in March 2020. It will certainly be accompanied by the Pro, Lite and a 5G version.
However, we cannot be positive about the designation P40. Huawei is an expert in secrecy when it comes to mentioning the names of its flagships.
After the P20 and P30, the arrival of the number 40 would seem logical to us, however, it would appear that future models of the brand are registered under the names of P400 and P500, even going as far as P1000. Case to follow …
In any case, seven months from its potential launch, the new Huawei is not (yet) the subject of many rumors. We have therefore grouped together the little information released about it concerning its release date, its price, its design and some technical characteristics.
When will the Huawei P40 be released?
Huawei is in the habit of presenting its new phones after the MWC. In this way, the brand pays full attention to it without having to fight against the launches of its competitors, the Galaxy S11, Xiaomi Mi 10, LG G9, etc.
In 2019, the P30 was unveiled on March 26 and went on sale on April 5. The P40 should be launched at the same time, at the end of March 2020, during an event in Paris.
What will be the price of the Huawei P40?
When it was released on March 26, the P30 was sold at € 799 for the standard model (6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage space) and from € 999 for the Pro (8 GB of RAM and 128 Go), a jump of 100 € compared to their predecessors.
This, therefore, suggests a possible increase of € 100 in 2020, or even more for its 5G version.
What will the Huawei P40 look like?
Design, technical characteristics, functionalities, what to expect with the Huawei P40?
Its design should have remained the same, with a few exceptions. For good reason, its notch on the screen would be abandoned in favor of a simple punch or a pop-up selfie lens. The display would be Quad resolution and not Full HD +.
As for the design of the phone, it is not impossible that its edges are more square.
The P30 Pro has four lenses, the P40 Pro could have a fifth sensor, like the Nokia 9.
At IFA 2019, Huawei revealed new details about the Kirin 990 processor that will power the P40, its new flagship.
This 7nm Kirin 990 SoC processor will incorporate an 8-core configuration, a 16-core Mali G76 GPU and a Dual Core NPU to improve AI performance.
According to the brand, the Kirin 990 is 10% faster than the Snapdragon 855 and up to 35% more energy efficient. It should also be equipped with a 65W fast recharge
In a recent interview, Richard Yu, CEO of Huawei, said that the P40 will run Android 10 with the EMUI home interface.
